For their sixth record the society’s group of Church Recorders is currently working at Luddington. This is a small Victorian church and the record will complete the three churches under the vicar of Stratford-upon-Avon.
The task involves making an accurate record of every artefact within the church from the stained glass windows to the fire extinguishers. There is a standard format showing from 1-10 a complete description, material, date, dimensions, artist and manufacturer, history, donor, inscription and references.
Five copies are made and distributed to the Church, the Diocese, the local record office, the V&A Library and the National Monument Record Office.
