Welcome to our website
We are the Stratford–upon–Avon branch of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies (NADFAS), hence our name SADFAS.
NADFAS was founded in 1968 for those interested in learning more about the arts, presenting stimulating and entertaining lectures by world–class speakers, visits to outstanding sites of artistic importance and days devoted to in–depth study of relevant topics. SADFAS also promotes and supports the arts through activities of Heritage Volunteers, Church Recorders and Young Arts.
Founded in 1972, SADFAS has 40 years of experience in arranging an enjoyable and stimulating programme of activities.
Lectures are held at the Civic Hall, Rother Street, Stratford–upon–Avon, CV37 6LU on the third Thursday of most months, excluding July and August. Because we are a large society, the lecture is given twice at 10.45 and again at 1.30 pm. Coffee is available half an hour before the lecture which gives members the chance to socialise, make new friends and meet members of the committee.
WE DO NOT HAVE A WAITING LIST so if you wish to find out more about the exciting opportunities that SADFAS membership can offer, please browse our website by clicking on the list on the left and contacting our Membership Secretary (see the Membership page) who will be delighted to answer your questions.
With Best wishes
The SADFAS Committee
